CannGrow is the dedicated training program for anyone seeking a cultivation license in Dominica’s legal cannabis industry. Whether you are a farmer, cooperative member, or entrepreneur, CannGrow equips you with the scientific, regulatory, and technical skills to become a compliant and successful cultivator.

Officially recognized by the government and delivered in partnership with the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries, Blue & Green Economy.

Professional Training Kit & Internships

CannGrow includes a compliant, hands-on learning track: a 3-plant professional protocol (adapted to local legislation) and a guaranteed internship with licensed operators in the Caribbean or Canada.

3-Plant Professional Protocol (SOP)

  • Full cycle: germination → veg → bloom → harvest → basic post-harvest (trim/dry/cure basics).
  • Data logging: climate, irrigation, EC/pH, growth metrics, IPM events, and QA checks.
  • Weekly mentor check-ins (online) + photo/video diary for instructor feedback.
  • Assessment: submission of logbook, adherence to SOP, quality & compliance checklist.
  • Legal adaptation: kit content and steps are adjusted to the current legislation and any local permit requirements.

Dr. Machel A. Emanuel — Program Director & Senior Botanist

Lecturer at the University of the West Indies (UWI) Mona, Jamaica, Dr. Emanuel specializes in tropical horticulture and leads UWI’s Cannabis Research Group, advancing quality and consistency in medical cannabis cultivation.

He serves as Technical Consultant Advisor to Dominica’s Ministry of Agriculture on cannabis reform and as Vice-Chair of Jamaica’s Bureau of Standards Cannabis Technical Committee, bridging science and policy to shape Caribbean cannabis regulation and innovation.

If you have already completed and passed CannBase – Core Licensing & Compliance, your CannBase fee (XCD $320) will be fully deducted from the price of CannGrow.

Government Funding Support

Up to $ 2000 XCD in Government Support

As a Caribbean citizen, you may be eligible for government financial support covering up to $2,000 XCD of your program fees. This initiative is designed to help local talent thrive in the legal cannabis industry. To qualify, you must meet specific eligibility criteria set by the relevant authorities.

Frequently Asked Question

Yes. The NCRC requires completion of CannBase + the CannGrow modules (GA-201 plus compliance modules) before any license can be approved.

You still need CannBase, but CannGrow is highly recommended to make you more employable.

No. CannGrow provides the required certification to apply for a license. The NCRC still evaluates your application and business plan.

You can retake the exam in the next cohort at a reduced re-exam fee.

Yes. Every graduate of CannGrow is guaranteed a placement — either in Dominica or with one of our international partner facilities in Canada, the Caribbean, or Europe.
