Individual Fee XCD $660 per learner. Group rates available for companies/hospitality groups.
A portion of each enrollment is remitted to the NCRC.
Credit policy: If you enroll in CannServe within 12 months, this module fee is fully credited toward the program tuition.

Learning Outcomes

  • Apply CLA rules for consumption lounges: license display, zoning, operating hours, inspections.
  • Implement responsible service & harm-reduction: dosing oversight, intoxication management, refusal protocols.
  • Design and maintain safe ventilation & occupational health systems for staff and patrons.
  • Ensure public order: crowd control, incident logging, coordination with law enforcement when required.
  • Draft and enforce SOPs for entry control, product handling, hygiene, incident response, and emergencies.

Detailed Content

  • Regulatory framework for lounges: scope, permitted activities, prohibited conduct.
  • Premises setup: zoning compliance, occupancy limits, signage, license display.
  • Responsible service: patron assessment, dose tracking, impairment indicators, refusal & ejection policies.
  • Product handling & custody: chain-of-custody on site, storage, labeling, returns/disposals.
  • Public health & hygiene: sanitation routines, surface protocols, PPE for staff.
  • Ventilation & OH&S: airflow targets, filtration/air changes, smoke/vapor controls, staff exposure limits.
  • Security plans: entry screening, bag checks, surveillance zones, incident escalation.
  • Record-keeping & reporting: incident logs, refusal logs, maintenance records, inspection readiness.
  • Neighbourhood relations: nuisance mitigation, noise/light, community liaison.
  • Emergency management: medical events, fire, evacuation drills, law-enforcement liaison.

Assessment

  • Written quiz: 25 questions (passing score communicated in LMS).
  • Simulation: Draft and present a mini Operating Plan (security + health + responsible service) for a lounge.

License Mapping

Required for Consumption Lounge applicants (managers/supervisors) and recommended for co-located retail operations.

Validity & Credit

Certificate validity: 2 years. Fee fully credited toward CannServe if enrolled within 12 months.
