Learning Outcomes
- Apply CLA rules for consumption lounges: license display, zoning, operating hours, inspections.
- Implement responsible service & harm-reduction: dosing oversight, intoxication management, refusal protocols.
- Design and maintain safe ventilation & occupational health systems for staff and patrons.
- Ensure public order: crowd control, incident logging, coordination with law enforcement when required.
- Draft and enforce SOPs for entry control, product handling, hygiene, incident response, and emergencies.

- Regulatory framework for lounges: scope, permitted activities, prohibited conduct.
- Premises setup: zoning compliance, occupancy limits, signage, license display.
- Responsible service: patron assessment, dose tracking, impairment indicators, refusal & ejection policies.
- Product handling & custody: chain-of-custody on site, storage, labeling, returns/disposals.
- Public health & hygiene: sanitation routines, surface protocols, PPE for staff.
- Ventilation & OH&S: airflow targets, filtration/air changes, smoke/vapor controls, staff exposure limits.
- Security plans: entry screening, bag checks, surveillance zones, incident escalation.
- Record-keeping & reporting: incident logs, refusal logs, maintenance records, inspection readiness.
- Neighbourhood relations: nuisance mitigation, noise/light, community liaison.
- Emergency management: medical events, fire, evacuation drills, law-enforcement liaison.
Assessment
- Written quiz: 25 questions (passing score communicated in LMS).
- Simulation: Draft and present a mini Operating Plan (security + health + responsible service) for a lounge.
License Mapping
Required for Consumption Lounge applicants (managers/supervisors) and recommended for co-located retail operations.
Validity & Credit
Certificate validity: 2 years. Fee fully credited toward CannServe if enrolled within 12 months.
